Finished: Frankenstein Moneta dress

If there’s a party, I want to join the party! (especially when it’s a sewing related party) (well, only if it’s sewing related. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Yay i’m such a party animal…!)

The Triple Stitchers organized the Moneta party where everybody posts her Moneta dress on Instagram with the hashtag #monetaparty and we all can admire eachother creations and get to know more sewists on Instagram. I like that.
And because of their enthousiasm for the pattern, they made me curious for the Moneta dress.
(frankly, I saw it numerous times clicking through the Colette website but didn’t think it was something for me) (HA! Was i wrong) Lees verder “Finished: Frankenstein Moneta dress”

Finished: Saunio Cardigan of Named Clothing

The second make of the SewMyStyle Sewalong!
This time it was the Saunio Cardigan of Named Clothing. It is my first try with the Named patterns, and to be honest I am a bit intimidated by the patterns. They are very hip and have a lot of constructive details, and I always consider them out of my league (read: comfort zone).

Saunio Cardigan by Named Clothing
Saunio Cardigan by Named Clothing

The same with the Saunio Cardigan: a short but boxy/ oversized cardigan. Very simple, and could be elegant with a thin, very long hipster girl who likes to play with her silhouet. Everything I am not ๐Ÿ™‚
(#momcore of the non hipster kind is more me)

But I tried the Saunio Cardigan (a heck why not) and I was pleasantly surprised. It kinda suits me!
Woohoo!

Finished: table tent present for my three year old

It all started with a idea from a friend. She saw some really cool table tents on Pinterest. So I looked too. And made my bed. ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh Pinterest. How I love you. And how I hate you! Because I will NEVER make a Table Tent as beautiful as those examples.

But I would never know about table tents if Pinterest didn’t excist.
So nevermind!

Finished: Hacked Billie sweater by Zonen09

I got some not so subtle hints from Boudewijn: he reaaaally would love to have a sweater. And well, he had some reason for those hints, because some time ago (a year..!) I started enthousiastic with a really cool hack of the Billie Sweater of Zonen09.

I don’t know why I left it for so long. And I forgot how far I was with the hacking: I just needed to cut the fabric and sew the damn thing!

*woops*

Finished: Toaster Sweater #2 by SewhouseSeven

Woohoo, my first make for SewMyStyle! The Toaster Sweater of Sewhouse7 was the first pattern to attack. And I made it the second day of January. So quick!

I planned a Sew-All-Day day with my friends Marianne and Freya. We sewed all day, ate a delicious lunch Freya made and had a blast!

2017-01-01-14-38-25I handstamped & cut the grey sweaterfabric (bought at de Stoffenloods) on New Years Eve. (my so glamorous rock&roll life.. ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

How to make your own stamps and stamp your fabric

how to make your own stamps and stamp your fabricJeez, that’s a long title. But sums it up pretty well ๐Ÿ™‚

This is superfun to do with your kid!

(or alone, because who need kids for fun stuff: I enjoyed it tremendously)

Your own drawings (designs!) on your t-shirts, dresses, table clothes, leggings, handkerchiefs, quilts, beddings, dishclothes, cardigans..ย  I think you get the picture.

Sewing plans – 2017

Happy New Year!

I started my sewing plans for 2017 with a kick start. I spend New Years Eve making stamps and decorating t-shirts and fabric with Ieke (my 6 year old) and my mum.

The fabric of my Toaster Sweater 2 and the birthday dress of Ella (and Ieke’s very similar dress ๐Ÿ™‚ ) were made.
After dinner I was so tired and I was afraid I couldn’t keep my eyes open till 12. So I just kept going. Ironing (so much fabric!), cutting out the Toaster Sweater pieces and tracing the Saunio Cardigan pieces. Pretty pleased with myself for keeping myself awake, gheghe.

Finished: Waverjacket by Papercut Patterns

(For English see below pictures)

NY resolution #sewmystyle

(English below picture)

A very early NY resolution: I’m joining #sewmystyle: 12 pieces of garments in 12 months. And not just by myself, but in a through Instagram organised project with participants all around the world! Alex Bartholomew is the organiser. SO COOL!

Now I need to use my time wisely to check out the patterns and maybe try to (secretly) do something beforehand. Because last year I noticed the summer vacation means a sewing stop for me.

To be continued!

Work in progress: Waverjacket
